Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Pusha Munda, Chief Civil Supplies Officer (CCSO)-cum-District Manager of Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd. (OSCSCL), in an interception case near Chhatrapur in Ganjam district.
According to an official press release, Munda
was intercepted on NH-16 near Science College at Chhatrapur, while he was
travelling in his official Bolero vehicle from his rented quarters to
Berhampur. During the interception, suspected ill-gotten cash amounting to Rs 3,00,000
was recovered from his possession, for which he could not provide a
satisfactory explanation. The cash and vehicle were seized.
Following the interception, simultaneous searches were conducted at his rented residence in Chhatrapur, his house in Bhawanipatna, and his office chamber. The searches led to the unearthing of disproportionate assets in the name of Munda and his family members, including:
- A three-storeyed building (approx. 5,000 sq ft) in Bhawanipatna town
- One homestead plot in Bhawanipatna
- Ten plots of land measuring around 19 acres purchased in 2023 on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna
- One four-wheeler (Suzuki Ciaz ZXI), two two-wheelers, and one benami two-wheeler registered in the name of a local rice miller
Odisha Vigilance has registered Berhampur
Vigilance PS Case No.11 dated 09.07.2025 under Section 13(2) read with Section
13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Munda is being
forwarded to the Court of the Special Judge of Vigilance in Berhampur.
Further investigation is underway.
