Bhubaneswar: In a major crackdown on corruption, Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested Dileswar Majhi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Sub-Division in Titlagarh of Bolangir district, on charges of possessing disproportionate assets.
According to an official press release, the
accused officer was apprehended following simultaneous raids at six locations
linked to him. The searches revealed massive unaccounted wealth, including four
buildings, one market complex, nine high-value plots, 300 grams of gold, Rs 6.57
lakh in cash, and deposits exceeding Rs 49.45 lakh in various banks and
financial institutions.
Majhi was unable to produce a satisfactory
explanation for the source of these assets, leading to his arrest under charges
related to the possession of disproportionate assets. He is slated to be
produced before the Court of Special Judge of Vigilance in Bolangir today.
The case has been registered under Sambalpur
Vigilance PS Case No. 13/2025.
